Hey:

I'm rebuilding an Optiplex Gx260 the original hardrive has been removed. I have installed XP, but I can't get the onboard network adapter to work, I tried another adpater, again with no luck. Is there a driver I need can I download the set-up disk from somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.

Go to this address (copy & paste it into your browser)
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_GX260&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

and get the first two downloads listed.
The first is a diagnostic utility to run the network adapter, and the second is the driver setup file.
Instal the driver first, then the diagnostic utility. You may have to restart your pc afterwards.

You can get the drivers from this page:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_GX260&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Choose the network drivers first, get them on to a flash key so you can put them on the computer, then you can download the rest of the drivers you need directly to the computer.
Good Luck

If you are using the onboard network adapter, visit dell.com, and go to "support", and download the NIC driver for that model.
