Are the people responsible for making the music being paid for their labors? It sounds like the answer to that is NO. Since typically music is copyrighted in order to prevent folks from stealing it then you are probably guilty of copyright infringement. In short, I can't imagine how free music can be legal without the artists releasing it into the public domain. BTW, that very seldom happens.
