If you could change any ONE thing about the "new" NHL, what would it be and why?
I really don't like the trapezoids... or all the hooking calls... but since I said one, I would get rid of the trapezoids because it limits the goalie even less.

The size of the ice, make all rinks to the olympic size, which makes more room for the players, they should have done that when they added the extra ref.

Just one? I'd get rid of the trapezoids too. Basically all they can do now is stop the puck behind the net for their teamates. Before they could actually pass it or shoot it up the ice. It must be fun waiting for the puck to come into the trap so you don't get a penalty.

I like the trapezoid, I long for the old days when goalies never ventured into the corner.
Hell, I remember when goalies never left the crease!
I'd give Colin Campbell some commom sense...........that Hartnell rulinmg just added to his joke status conferred upon him after the Bergeron ruling.

I'd make the rinks the same size as the Europeans because the players are simply much larger and faster and I think it would make the game more appealing in a general sense.

Not always have the refs root for the Other teams other team than the wild. They got 3 sure to be penalties but didnt call em!

Hooking-If a player just pokes a player above the waist its possible they get called.Its a small thing that turns into a PP.
On the other hand I love the shoot-out.

just one? how about olympic size rinks, no delay of game, no shootouts make it a full overtime period and whoever wants it the most gets it, and get rid of the trapezoid and all the stupid wuss penalty calls

I would eliminate icing where a player from the shooting team is inside the zone before the other player touches the puck.
