Not only are most insects edible, they are also very nutritious. In fact we all do eat insects everyday. If you read Consumer Reports on food products they don't check to see IF there are insect parts in food, they check to see HOW MUCH is in there. The big juicy ones are the most popular around the world, especially grasshoppers and locusts. There is a beetle in Mexico that is ground up fresh and whole to use as a sauce. It's green and supposed to be delicious. I haven't tried any yet, that I know of.

Someday I hope to eat ants covered in chocolate.
But as of today Nov 30, 2007 - I have not eaten an insect. Good question as it reminds me of my things to do list I made - which I better start on! Peace.

Yeah sure, they are a great source of protein. I've had numerous insects, either in other foods or by themselves. It's REALLY not a big deal.

Yep. Lots of cultures eat them. For example, i think you can eat grasshoppers, and the worms in the tequila bottle!
