"I certainly KNOW it exists. I've tested it enough to be positive in my beliefs. I no longer allow plants or animals in my living space" - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkRbutgMRdEEGyVlCT2eASX6xQt.;_ylv=3?qid=20071129154714AAdE2QW
a 'being' is someone who is being born, feeds, grows, multiplies, gets old and dies.
following this stages we identify humans, animals and plants.
it is not only in the folk tales about the animals' abilities to 'sense' whatever we don't usually sense and so on.
as for plants... put them some classical music and you'll see they're somehow... happier.
a neighbor of mine 'quarrels' a plant and there are drops of water coming on the leaves in seconds - she says 'the plant cries'.
as for the answer you cited, you should ask the person who's written it - hey, look at me: i'm a tomcat caught in the christmas spirit who uses the computer; still, i do not affect people in a [bad] psychic way.

I have lots of plants and animals but I never think of them as an aid to or blocking my psychic ability. I just like them around me. I do have psychic links with some animals, like my horses and one cat. Never tuned into a plant either!

I have spirit totem animals around me quite a bit, most cats (have a panther, a wolf, and a cougar/puma/mountain lion). And I have felt the energy of the trees in our area, felt them as if they were human, like they had a soul and a presence I've never felt before. I got that from one of my spirit guides/teachers, an indiana man, when I first met him. It was a really cool feeling, I felt at one with the earth that day.

Here is an old/new way to look at things. In my day there was a Zen Philosopher named Alan Watts.
What he radically proposed that organisms need not be self contained. Take the flower and the Bee. They are the back and the front of one organism. So how do they exist? in a psychic way, aware of each other and yielding to the same stimulus.

Hello Tig
All living things have an energy system, so although I can't comment on the other Que you mentioned the answer is Yes.
Any energy system will interact with others in same area - we are all linked.

I read that question and it puzzled me too. Believing plants have consciousness is uber-magical thinking.

What was the question? Maybe we can find it. It would help to know the context that it was said in.
