It's not easy to keep a positive attitude or hopeful outlook when you are living through a life difficulty.

I've always found that when I focus on the positive aspects of my life I don't feel so overwhelmed by the negative things going on. It's like when you see on the news where someone has lost their home to a fire, you will often hear them say they are grateful to be alive and not to have perished in the fire that took their home.

Also, try not to go through this alone. Call on friends and family for moral support and to possibly help you sort things out.

Moreover, try to take an active role in improving your situation. Start a job search strategy (up date your resume;
let all of your friends and family know that you are looking for work so that they can let you know if they hear of any jobs that you might be interested in; visit the library and/or college career services offices to get help with resume, interviewing skills, etc.

Speak with whoever you need to about your home. Perhaps you can work something out with your lender. It's worth talking to them because you don't have anything to lose by doing that. Explain your situation and see if anything can be worked out so that you don't have to lose your home.

I don't mean to suggest that it will be easy to get through this tough time, and you will have days when it's hard to keep a positive attitude, but you can get through this.

I hope this helps some.

I was there this time of year two years ago and I was pregnant. I never had a house but an apartment which I lost. Nobody will hire someone who is 7 months pregnant and my husband had been hit by a high driver and was hurt and we lost everything...what little we did have. I remember sitting on a bus pregnant with a box that said SALVATION ARMY really big on it. That was a new low for me, I mean I was a successful honors student graduated in the top 5% of my class.

What always got me through was remembering that I was in America. Imagine being born a woman in the Congo. Even though I was American poor and felt disregarded and betrayed I remember there is always an opportunity to get it back. I am still working on recovering now, going back to school and I swallowed my pride and have a lot of help. Just keep your head up and keep trying and remember what is REALLY important this Christmas...and when you have a good year it will just be that much sweeter.

This may not seem as much help .. but to feel a little better - there are SO many other people who have faced the same thing ... this has happened to lots & lots of other people.

This too, shall pass.

Look deep into your future. When all of these bad things that are happening to you now - has passed away - you can start anew. And who knows ... it could be better than ever.

So know .. even though you are going through an absolute terrible time right now ... there can be brighter times for you to come. Just get through this, now.

You can pick yourself up .. dust yourself off ... and have the determination to start again .. and keep on, and on.

Look at Job in the Bible.

One day .. if you try .. and let it .. the sun will shine brightly again for you.

What is happening to you now .. is just now .. you have better times to come.

This is true .. so remember this .. "Attitude is everything".

You haven't lost anything. Yes, you lost your "good" job. But, get off your butt and off the computer. Go and get a job.

It's the holiday season, you can go work at a department store. I'm sure they could offer you 40 plus hours.

You are giving up too easy. You can save your house and your life.

Do you have a trusted family member that you can borrow money from.

Do that and save your house. Work (even if it's for $7 an hour--it' better then nothing) Pay that person back a little every week.

You might be broke and can't afford clothes or a cell phone for a while. But, you'll have a home and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you work your way out of a rock bottom situation.

If you have time to write about how sad you are, you have time to be working and improving your status. Even if it's the night shift stocking shelves at Walmart.

Sorry to hear that. Try and remain positive, and be thankful for what you do have. Health, kids, family and so forth. I know this is tough. I had similar trouble and with the help of family and friends I have made it through some very, very difficult times. And also with much prayer and God's help. Keep praying and know others will pray for you too. Is there anyone who may be able to help you? Even if you have to swallow a little pride? Also some lenders have emergency assistance programs. Search on line also for state or federal programs. Also know that banks and mortgage companies don't want to foreclose if they don't have to. So make sure you ask for help. They may be able to give it to you. Good Luck and God Bless you and your family.

I'm not even lying when I say this. Sometimes you have to laugh as hard as you can laugh at bad situations as this. You haven't lost everything. You have yourself, as sure as you found that job, you'll find another one. Just as sure as you had that home, you'll find another one. You can't be positive if you put your head in your hand. Some things come to push us in a bigger and better direction. But if we hold on to the pain of it, we won't see the blessing that is on the way for us. Keep your head up and look for the best.

I went through it a year ago. It's the toughest time of my life.
But here's the good news. I now have a great new job and a new little apartment and I am happier now than I ever was trying to keep my house.
Keep the faith and things will turn back around.
God Bless
