Online dating to me is like gambling. You have to try to meet someone that lives in the same city as you & then meet them at a public place & go from there. You have to be careful.

Anyone that believes anything a person says online is asking to be hurt. When you meet someone and talk on line , take everything with a grain , or pound , of salt. Enjoy yourself . Even if all the words were true, there is still so much that you should know before you meet or see each other. I mean she may think she's single with no baggage but what about that one nite stand or bf from last year. Does he hold a grudge? Has she got clamidia? I got to talk a lot before I meet someone.

I know several happily married couples who met at e-harmony and the like. I have been set up with friends of friends who have turned out to be losers. In other words people are both good and bad, and you can meeet both online, you just have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince. LOL Stupid saying but you know what I mean. Make sure you play it safe, and meet at a public place, and give someone else his contact information first, if at all possible, like a friend. Also, have an escape hatch too, have a friend call you while at your date, and if you are happy, tell them you'll call them back, if you are wanting an out, you can use that. In other words use your common sense, even with set-ups, and not just the internet people

Good people and bad people are everywhere- not just online. A guy (OR girl) can lie about their age and marital status in the local bar just as easily as they can online.
Is it possible to meet someone great online? Yes- I know 2 happily married couples who met on dating sites. But the relationships didn't blossom until they got offline and starting getting to know each other in the real world.

The problem with the internet is that some people get so desperate to be with somebody, anybody, theyre willing to believe any kind of bs!!! the internet is not the way to meet a person to love, is just to chat and share thoughts, to fall in love over the net is one of the most stupid things anyone can do.

I know a woman who is about to marry a gay guy from Germany she met online. You'll never convince her he isn't straight - although she told me he can't climax! Obviously,he just wants residency in the U.S. Then look at that girl in Galveston whose online bf/husband convinced her to kill her daughter by a previous relationship. How utterly sad. I've never seen anything good come out of online relationships.

Why on earth would you trust anyone for love and a relationship over the computer?

the only way to know is do a background check on this person.
i met my husband online though and i felt the same way. i just got lucky. generally, u should never trust them. the ratio of good men to perverts and criminals are too small.

You never really can. The best you or any of us can do is trust our instincts and listen to that voice of reason inside ourselves.
Good luck.
