Some single people consider themselves misfits. Waiters certainly consider them misfits.

If singles are considered misfits, consider this. There are approximately 95 million singles in the United States alone! That's a lot of misfits to be living in one country. There's nothing wrong with you if you're single. People are people, whether married or not. Even marriages has its share of people you could call "misfits." Just because you're not married, doesn't make you any less worthy as a human being.

Well, I have been gloriously, wonderfully and happily single since 1981..after 2 marriages and two great kids.

I have remained single by choice and wouldn't have it any other way.....fer sure.

ALL of my friends are single...every one. And, none would ever marry again. A few live together but most don't even want that...

I love living alone, love traveling solo, love making my decisions based on what I want to do without having to consult with another. I have male friends and we socialize, go to dinner, travel, have a good time. I've known them for 25 years. They, nor I, have any interest in a permanent arrangement.

My daughter is a single mom - after being married 17 years. She said she will never do it again either - prefers to live alone....with her 16 year old son. Who, by the way, is a great kid - disproving the current opinion that somehow without a man in the house, the kid will be disfunctional.

With 52% of marriages ending in divorce, it would seem to be the norm rather than strange or unusual.

Married people are the misfits. Singles now outnumber married people.

Of course not dear. I know being single can be lonely and frustrating, not knowing if you will ever find that special someone. I've been single twice in my life and have been lucky to have found wonder full partners during the single times and the "partnered" times. So don't worry, just enjoy being with the people around you.
