How should I write my letter to the judge?

I am requesting to have my date (divorce) to turn in docs and certifications extended due to resident training (employment). How do you ask a judge?

You file what's called a motion for continuance. (Google it for examples).

You can't just "write a letter to a judge" - that's called an ex parte communication, and the judge isn't allowed to even read it.

The motion has to be filed in the proper manner, and the other party has to be served with a copy, all in the proper time frame.
