Or maybe most Iraqis don't want a Foreign Military Occupation?

"Attacks against U.S. forces have increased in other Iraqi provinces — like Diyala, Saladin and Mosul.

The U.S. army reported dozens of soldiers killed throughout November while local reports insisted that the U.S. casualties are much higher than declared.

A female suicide bomber wounded seven U.S. soldiers Wednesday in Baquba - - the capital city of the volatile Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad — when she detonated her explosive vest near the troops.

On Tuesday in the same city, another suicide bomber detonated his explosives-filled vest in front of the police headquarters — killing six people and wounding seven, according to Iraqi police.

Underscoring how tenuous the peace in al-Anbar is, on Nov. 22 a car bomb exploded in Ramadi, killing at least six people in what was one of the deadliest attacks there in recent months."

LeAnne-I guess you have not been to the green Zone:
" I arrived at Camp Liberty, one of the main US bases, and found breakfast in the 'morale area' where food facilities include a Burger King, Cinnabon, Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits and Seattle's Best Coffee Iraq. It's a sort of pre-fab American simulacrum, Disney World meets Platoon in the desert."

Kevin M-If the Escalation-I mean "Surge"- is "working" why are there still more Iraqi "insurgent" attacks on U.S. Troops than on Iraqi forces and civilians combined?

The surge is not working, it has only brought violence levels down to where they were in 2006,... amazing the spin that goes on.. 2007 was the deadliest year in Iraq, only in the last quarter did we see a drop, but that was regional and in fact certain areas became more dangerous and we lost ground.. when the cease fire ends I believe we will see the highest levels of violence yet...Link coming up.

Sure has, I just rode the Saddam Hussein ride last week...great ride, but gives you crazy whiplash!

The special effects on Chemical Alley's Tunnel of Love are great! The exploding IEDs midway through the ride, were so life-like, and so where the unexploded cluster bombs that were always blowing up every few feet!
The mist at the end gave me a terrible case of sniffles and a bit of a rash, but they make you sign a waiver before you hop on, so you can't really sue.

The Blackwater House of Horror is crazy! You can almost feel the bullets wizzing past your head!

The games kinda suck, because every prize is a 1 oz bottle of crude oil, but Haliburton collects them as you exit the theme park, so you don't have to worry about lugging them all home. For every 10 that you give them, they give you a little US flag lapel pin. Is that cool or what?!

i do no longer agree that our troops could desire to nevertheless be there, yet I do trust the reality that we ousted Saddam. all and sundry who thinks the international became right into a safer place with a guy or woman like him in skill is purely ignorant and stupid. Why do think of his very own human beings placed him on trial and had him hung? We did no longer invade Iraq because of the fact of 9/11.....it is why we invaded Afghanistan genius. the reason we invaded Iraq became into by using entire "weapons of mass destruction" concern. which all of us understand became right into a sham, from suggestions given to the U.S. by using a GERMAN secret agent working for the U.S. don't have self assurance me? carry out a little reasearch and discover out for your self. the only way it variety of feels it could have been real is that in the event that they hauled off thier weapons into neighboring international locations...that could ok be attainable, yet we are able to by no skill understand. while you are going to generalize all and sundry, and make fake assumptions, examine your information, and do somewhat learn in the previous you say stupid issues.

As long as they have 300,000 U.S Troops to protect the rides.

While the surge has helped with the amount of violence, it has done nothing on the political reconciliation.

We cannot keep a 300,000 man Army in Iraq much longer.

What about Troop rotation?

We do not have an adequate number of troops to replace those that are already there.

I see what your getting at but the part of that every one does not get about the surge is that... Fair and balanced Faux News seems to forget about the cease fire declared by Al Sadar. That expires soon so the violence should be in the up swing soon... Just in time for W's last year!!!

No one has claimed that. I am thrilled that things are improving and hope young Iraqi's do get the chance to enjoy their youth.

Please people, even our own leaders are acknowledging that the surge is working.

Congratulations to our troops.
