I dont have any ideas, I just wanted to write that I agree, especially since it is so over used, and used in cases where it is very unlikely the person is actually laughing out loud, if at all.
The only lols I like are lolcats.

I HATE LOL as well. If I think something if funny, I just type "hahah" but if it's something that causes me to laugh aloud, I type "HAHAHA". It gives a stronger sense of hilarity. Accurate of how I'm feeling. The more I laugh, the more I repeat the pattern. Like "HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA".

"LOL" and the others are totally annoying. It seriously makes me wish doom on the human race. I use "hahaha". I sometimes use "bahahaha". Some people say that's rude. Honestly, I don't give two *****. All you ***** that use "lol".....burn in hell.

if you want an original way you have to make it up yourself. it's not that hard that you'd have to ask a topic about it. even i have created a few over the years and they mostly got either adopted or i didn't use them and forgot about 'em.
really, use your imagination, make it easily-writable, keep it simple and voila.
