1967 Arab-Israeli War lasted 6 days. How did a really small country like Israel manhandle Jordan, Egypt and Syria. The nations of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria also contributed troops and arms to the Arab forces.

All these Islamic countries were beat by tiny Israel in just 6 short days!

What does this say about Islam?

Most people here have been saying that its because of the US, while the Russians have always supplied Israel's Arab neighbors with plenty of great technological equipment.
I believe the reason they stay alive, is because when Israel goes to war, the entire country is fighting for survival, not just the soldiers on the front line. I would assume that since the Israeli's are fighting for survival they have more drive than their enemies who fight only to destroy them because they are told to do so.

Have you ever read any of the confusing, disconnected, dopey official letters written by the people over there? Remember the pointlessly long, incoherent, rambling message written by Bin Laden, urging us to withdraw from the Middle East? Ahmadinejad's letter jumped around so much, he never followed one line of reasoning. It was like the letter was written by three schizophrenics, who cut their letters sentence by sentence, and then someone taped them together in random order.

Well, this is why their military forces are so inept. They don't have straightforward reasoning like in the West. Their thought processes are so convoluted as to prevent good communication.

It doesn't always matter who has better weaponry or superior forces, but how those forces are used. Remember, in a chess match both sides start out equal, but a superior player will pin down his opponent until it's like his opponent doesn't have any real force at all.

Sure, it helps that the U.S. supplies the Israelis with weaponry, but the Israelis have developed a lot of weapons completely independently, and their intelligence gathering is among the absolute best in the world.

The Israelis are just more mentally disciplined and organized than their opponents. That's the key.

They get help for one thing. Israel planned, built up and trained for the 6 day war for three years. In the 1973 Yom Kippur war we bailed them out after they threatened to use nukes on Syria and Egypt. The were losing and had we not resupplied them they would have lost. The Yom Kippur war was a proxy war anyway.

added. Chiguy and Zardoz, you are greatly underestimating the dollar amount of Israels welfare check from us.

Read your Bible. Israel is a country that twice has come out of nowhere and existed. Think about it, before 1948, Israel had not existed as a sovereign nation for nearly a couple of thousand years. Read the Old Testament prophecies from Isaiah to Malachi. Check out the stories in Exodus, Joshua, and Kings. When God does the fighting, strange things happen to His enemies. They often end up in a ditch, or fighting amongst themselves. How else could one prevail over a thousand, and one hundred prevail over ten thousand?

Read, believe and rejoice - or, read 'em and weep!

Actually they had plenty of help from the US, I remember in 1973 being in a unit, that was ordered to package all TOW Weapon Systems, so they could be sent to Isreal. Lots of other stuff, but that is on a need to know basis.

It seems to me Israel has been at war since the '40's. And there has been no success yet or the war would be over.

Due to US intervention and US weapons they purchase with US tax money.

It only costs the US approx $2 billion per year in aid to Israel, an attack on 9/11, and a $2 trillion war in Iraq.

We let Israel off its short leash for those couple days. Thats what the middle east does not get. We don't help them... We hold them back and accountable!
