I work in a health care setting. Teamwork is required to accomplish the day's duties. On the out patient care setting in which I work. We are paired to perform treatments. This one co worker has consistently traded his assignment on days we are paired. He has told me the reason why, is because my perfume is too strong. Fine! I purposely did not wear cologne on the days I have to work in that area around him. I've noticed him staring at me from a distance. He stll trades out his assignment to have another person work with me. My immediate supervisor has even asked me to exchange rooms to grant his wishes. Another supervisor asked if I thought this coworker was predjudiced. I really do not know, he doesen't talk to me nor do I ever say anything to him. It has gotten to the point now , that I do not want to even work anywhere near him.
I really do not feel very comfortable around him.
Should I report this to our HR dept. What should I do?

My experience tells me that you should at least make some incident report to your HR because if this individual begins a campaign against you for some imagined or false reason, you will already have something on file to show discrimination. Document everything including the supervisors who counselled you to accommodate this person. Do not make any unjustified claims or make mention of any suppositions, just the facts.

Talk to your supervisor about it again. If your supervisor is his supervisor as well, maybe he/she can arrange for you and your coworker to sit down together (with the supervisor as a mediator) and talk about what's going on. I can see why that would make you uncomfortable and I think you should find out what's going on. It sounds like it's an issue with him, not you, since you've tried to be accomodating to him. If your supervisor doesn't help you, then I would say go to HR. Good luck and hope this helps.

Quit worrying about it. If the guy does not like you for some reason let it alone and stay away from him, it's his strange little problem don't make a big deal out of it or it will become an even bigger issue. Not everyone likes everyone else.

Sounds like you should all sit down with HR and get to the bottom of it.
