A cult of believers think it was a UFO/extraterrestial and not a weather balloon as the government cited...What's your thoughts on this?

I believe it's exactly what the military (finally, in 1995) said it was; debris from a secret program called "Project Mogul".

No one thought anything at all about Roswell for the first 31 years after the incident.

Neither. It was a balloon train, consisting of several large balloons carrying atmospheric sensing equipment to monitor for Soviet testing of nuclear weapons. There was a couple hundred pounds of equipment. Of course, it was classified secret and gathered up quickly and completely. It was during the cold war.

Gavin, your sources are questionable. All from UFO propagandists who routinely make up any ridiculous claim they want. Yeah, I saw that movie: some of the dumbest stuff I've ever seen. Marcel didn't know what it was. Neither did most of the other officers in the area of the crash. It was top secret. They were not involved in the project. BTW, there were several of these trains launched over a few months. This one crashed, they believe, because of the bad storm they had the night before.

One careless newspaper report and several years later, one obsessed UFO nut, (Friedman), have made this what it has become.

Oh, and the thing with the "alien" markings on it? It was a piece of plastic from a toy, rigged onto part of the assembly to save time and money. The toy it came from was identified later and it is an exact match.

Jessie Marcell was taken to a UFO he didn't understand why he was told to pose with a weather balloon days later.

I had a magazine "The unexplained" published in 1978 it claimed to have a picture of a badly burned alien it looked like a still from the end of the British movie Alien Autopsy with Ant and Dec. They claim to show the original footage it had an impact on me because I recognised the scene from that magazine.

I saw the military pictures of soldiers combing the ground for even the smallest parts of something. Would they do this for a cheap weather balloon?
Would they block off the area so people could not get in or out. And why does it take a large truck and tarp, to remove a balloon that can fit in a small box?

Although there may be a slight possibilty that it was a ufo we will never know because our wonderful government lies so much each and every day and always has since the time of the roswell incident that they can not be trusted even enough to tell us they owe us money,, Get my drift? lol

Hi. Cult or not there is a theory that it was a balloon with a bomb attached that was launched from Japan in the last part of WWII. The military would NEVER admit it if it was.

The Roswell maybe is true, because the one who discovered says its true..and that time, there was a space program.and that means that it is maybe a weather ballon or a satellite, but for me is true and they said they found bodies of aliens.NASA dont know this things, but the Goverment knows exactly what happened that day.According to documents about that incident, they believe that its is really aliens, but im not sure.
