Why don't corporations give the stockholders that same right? The Unions are elected by the members to do what is best for the Union. So do the Stockholders.

I know you are waiting for an answer like, because they are greedy thieves that steal the dues blah blah blah.

The reality is there are times you can't give everyone a vote on every little thing.

I would like to tell the government they cannot use my tax dollars the way they want. I don't get the choice either.

The answer is in the title; "Union." The unions strength comes from its unity (united we stand, divided we fall). It long ago became evident that to extert any control over working conditions a labor force MUST be unified. An individual has no power against a corporation.

So just like when we vote on anything in an US election, once it's over, the majority rules. So it is with the Union.
