not advising you to take it off, but its actually easy. If your car has the same design as mine then there should be 6 bolts holding it together. 3 from the exhaust downpipe and 3 from the cat-back exhaust. The size socket was about a 14mm. Those will be Hella rusty so i would use a lot of liquid wrench or WD-40 on them before you try. You might want to look into getting a test pipe instead, unless you have to pass an emissions test.

Unless you're replacintg it with a new one it is illegal to remove it. And since it is a federal law you're looking at a B I G fine and maybe even jail time. Any shop that works on it would have to, by law, report the fact that it had been removed.

Did someone glue the cat to your car? Screwing it off? I have to think about that one for a while.

its welded on, and you shouldny take it off you might get fined or even you might have your licnece suspended depending in which state you live in.... the cat cleans the exhaust gases from your engine,
now if you want to change it wih a new one, you have to buy the original one and put it on( screws/ bolt it on) or you can take it to a muffler shop and have them weld on a new cat...
