I think I am going to have to have the Battery changed in it and I was wondering if anyone knew the procedure for replacing the battery.

There are pacemakers and defibrilators. One only kicks in when the heart rate drops below a programmed threshold. The other kicks in when the heart rate gets erratic to bring it back into normal rhythm. Your doctor should have covered this with you when it was implanted. Mine did! You have to go for regular checkups to have it monitored. The battery lasts for 5-7 years normally, but can go longer. That is why they monitor it regularly. The battery is replaced in an outpatient procedure, a couple of hours. A small incision is all that is necessary to access the battery to replace it.
