What's the deal with that cop out re-run of ugly betty?

Why wasn't there a new episode?

According to abc.com the new episode will air Dec. 5th....how exactly can you schedule an air date during a strike if that is indeed the cause?

An already scheduled NFL Thursday night game (Cowboys vs. Packers) as per the ABC/ESPN football contract.

Several more first-run episodes are left which were made before the WGA strike hit.
