Whats wrong with Having gay's in the military ?

A LOT ! First off...Gay men are sexually female,meaning they have sex with other men and It is just a BAD idea to have to have men and "women" in the same shower at the same time. It also DISCRIMINATES against straight men like myself because I am not allowed to have MY sexual partner in my squad bay,but a Gay man CAN have his sexual partner there.Third,I am a US MARINE and I can tell you from experience,it is just plain DESTRUCTIVE to the moral of an outfit to have openly gay men around the rest of us in day-to-day operations.I am a Christian,so That automatically makes me the "enemy" to the majority of homosexuals,and I simply CAN NOT trust a homosexual who hates me because I believe the word of God to 'watch my back' in a combat situation.To expect anyone to is just not rational.

How about some of you actually try ANSWERING instead of just ranting....Not one of you adressed the issue of discrimination against ME ! I guess its ok if it's against straight people,huh ?

yes finally someone with me- gay ppl should not be in the army, they will mess all the other squadron up. Not to mention how wierd would it be to sleep next to a gay guy when ur straight. Btw, gay people are all liberal, liberals dont believe in the war, so they are pretty much going to the army to screw around with other guys.

This isn't a question at all, but a thinly veiled rant against gay people. Maybe your homophobia is indicative of some inner fear you have about your own sexuality. Studies show that is often the case.

There is nothing wrong with having gay people in the military - unless having to work alongside people like you is taken into consideration, as it must be bad for them. A gay man or woman can easily perform their job as well as a heterosexual. Having them there may be bad for *your* morale, but rest assured having to work with someone like you probably has a negative effect on *everyone* else's morale.

In armies where gay people are not outlawed, they are NOT allowed to have sex with people in their squadron, any more than a male can have sex with a woman in his squadron. There are clear and definite rules against this.

Finally, what makes you an enemy to homosexuals is not your Christianity, but your bigotry, narrow mindedness and hatred - none of which are particularly "Christian" values (or at least on the Christianity I was introduced to as a child). Actually that makes you an enemy to everyone who isn't exactly like you - not just gay people. If I were you, I wouldn't bank on anyone "watching my back".

I'm a retired Army Platoon Sergeant, and Gay. There are lots of us serving. There are lots of Gay Marines, they probably shoot faster and straighter than you and score higher on the PT test too. I never considered other soldiers for sexual partners. The gay marines in your platoon probably don't either, so don't flatter yourself Marine. Christianity has nothing to do with serving the Constitution so don't go there at all. It specifically states in the First amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, nor prohibit the free exercise thereof". Some gay Marine might save your *** one day.

Have you forgotten that they are just people like you? Forget about sexuality. That's not what you do 24 hours a day, right? Not every gay person is just looking for sex. And being religious has no point either. Nobody cares if you're Christian or not. That's also something you should keep to yourself. Loosen up. Gay men are just men; they're as reliable and trustworthy in 'day-to-day operations' as anyone else, and they'll only affect the morale of those men who are either latent or 'closeted' gay men themselves, or so irrational as to be unable to be trusted with a weapon.
And there is nothing in the teachings of the christ that makes a christian an enemy to homosexual people (although I'm always curious how a christian can integrate 'thou shalt not kill' and 'love thy neighbour' with active military service...)

I've always agreed with the late Bill Hicks's view on gay people in the armed services; "Anyone DUMB enough to WANT to be in the military, should be allowed in. End of story. That should be the only requirement."
