I am writing this letter in hopes that you will be able to help my friend Jennifer. She is a single mother of 3 great kids, she recently got married (in July) and after 4 short months of being married the guy just decided that isnt what he wanted. He wouldn't give her much time to try to get a place so within 2-3 weeks she had to get a place for her and the kids to go. You see Jennifer doesn't have any family close by her and she lost her mother at age 5 I think so she has never had her mother around. She had to take every penny she had to get into an apartment and now that she has it she doesn't know how she is going to pay her rent for the month of december. she works a job during the week when she is able to get a babysitter for her youngest and then on the weekends for works a differant job. She deserves a break, she is so down she feels as if there is no help out here for her. she is only 25 and she tries so hard for her kids, so can someone out here help her & the kids?

Well isn't Jennifer stupid for:

1. Marrying a guy that was obviously not that committed to her considering he left her after 4 months - don't her kids deserve a man that is going to be around for the long haul? She should have waited until she was SURE.

2. Being a single mother at the age of 25 with no way to independently take care of them.

It's time for this girl to grow the hell up and take care of her responsibilities herself.

No sympathy whatsoever from me.

first of all, she just got married and the flake decided that he wants to leave her already? perhaps when they get divorced she can get alimony. don't know the law on that but i hope that she can get something. and she needs to go to her local social services office to apply for assistance. since she is a single mom and she doesn't have any other income save for what she gets from her job, if she is within the income guidelines, they may be able to help he out with childcare, food, housing and utilities assistance if she doesn't have any family to help her. you don't say how old her children are. and as far as the children are concerned, where are their fathers and are they helping her? if not, she needs to go to her social services agency's child support enforcement division so that they can track them down so that they can contribute to their children if she is not already getting any assistance. and in my opinion, this new husband should be ordered by a judge to pay something because unless there are some mitigating circumstances here, he shouldn't be let off the hook so easily. he took a vow, and now is walking away so easily? come on, now. at any rate, please encourage her to go there for help. i sincerely hope that she is not too proud to do so. she needs to do it for her children. there is no shame in needing, just in not asking for help. i wish her all the best

And if we all pitched in and helped her out financially, what will that teach her? Clearly she hasn't learned much in the way of life lessons so far. I feel bad for her, but sometimes, not helping is the best way to help someone.

She can get help from well fair services, food stamps, and government agencies, she can get help form the food pantry's, and from Church's. Look around in your community, people are always willing to help.
