If the Mafia wasn't involved in a conspiracy to kill Kennedy, why did so many Mob guys murdered during the 1970's when the JFK Assassiantion was being re-investigated?

Sam Giancana was shot and killed.

Jimmy Hoffa was kidnapped and murdered

Santo Trafficante was murdered.

Charles Nicoletti and Johnny Roselli were killed

Lucien Sarti (the alleged Grassy Knoll gunman) was killed in 1972

The list goes on...

Carlos Marcello remained alive until the 1990's.

Conspiracy theories are always entertaining, and I've always had a difficult time swallowing the "Oswald acted alone" version. HOWEVER - in the 60s and 70s, a lot of Mob guys got whacked for reasons that had nothing to do with the Kennedy hit. The murders you mention might well have taken place even if the plan fell apart and Kennedy had survived. It's the "what ifs" that has always made history such a fascinating topic for me.
