There are many southern states with such laws on the books.
However, these laws are almost never enforced any more, and if they were, they would almost immediately be ruled unconstitutional.

This question has been answered here many times. To summarize, adultery is still considered illegal in many, but not all states. But, as has already been stated, the laws are rarely, if ever utlized, and upheld even less. For more information you should use the links at the bottom of this Wikipedia article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adultery
If a spouse can be proven to have committed adultery, the most serious action they can face would be in a divorce. Providing that you have proof, adulterers have historically suffered in divorce proceedings. Information about this can also be found in the links at the bottom of the aforementioned article.

It's not a crime as far as state laws go, or they're not enforced. Many states have no fault divorces now so it doesn't matter if one party committed adultery so as to grant the divorce. The courts don't even want to hear about that part.

No, it's not against the law. Some states used to have laws against it, but not anymore, and even if somehow those laws were still on the books, they wouldn't be enforced.

There is no federal law against it, unless you include the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Hello no!
You can cheat all you want. It's legal, that is. Is it right? I don't think so, but thats subjective. Some people are down with open relationships.
