you can list to them everything from illegal immigration crisis, to health care high cost lack of insurance affordability crisis, to budget and trade deficits, excessive borrowing from other countries, to hike in gas prices over the past several years, to outsourcing of jobs in such gigantic numbers, the number of high school drop outs going up, to the fact that real wages of americans have been on the decline for a few years now..... Now, clearly these are facts that can be easily verified by one who cares about the truth, but there are some people that you say this to, and they will go out of their way and say that this is all just a coincidence and that the totality of these issues is does not have a common thread, or .....they may outright deny that none of it is true, and that gas prices are really not that high, and that illegals are not really a problem, and that americans should in fact embrace this brave new world where their jobs are going to china and india.

Who are these people that work so hard to convince that there really is nothing wrong at all, and that I should go back to my form of entertainment and just enjoy life?

I don't think things are going to get better. Just worse from here on out.

You think this war is bankrupting us fast enough for Americans to give up the "all mighty" dollar?

Well, I'm guessing they are the opposite of the people who constantly tell us that doom is just around the corner.

BTW....Budget deficits have been coming down the last 3 years. With a lower dollar, so will trade deficits. Outsourcing will go down for the same reason. Real wages of Americans has been going up since 2003. Check out the link below showing real household incomes. They go up for all groups, poor to rich, starting in 2004.

Look. The economy is doing OK. Not great, not bad. It's actually been doing very well the last 4 years, but now faces some hurdles which will lower growth and probably increase unemployment. But a catastrophe is not around the corner!

The rich, rich wannabes and sycophants. If every American had a clear idea exactly how much richer the rich are than poor and middle class Americans, if every American knew how much money was held by how few hands, if everyone not in the top 1% of the economy weren't so busy trying to get by and had time to look into wealth distribution here and around the world, if people didn't allow themselves to become distracted by everything from religious conflicts to Brittany's latest faux pas, there'd be a bloody revolution.

November 2, 2007, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released new jobs figures – 166,000 jobs created in October. Since August 2003, 8.31 million jobs have been created, with 1.68 million jobs created over the 12 months that ended in October. Our economy has now added jobs for 50 straight months – the longest period of uninterrupted job growth on record. The unemployment rate remains low at 4.7 percent.

What was the question?

Increasing "high school dropouts" and "outsourcing of jobs." Do you think there might be a correlation? The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is advertising for engineers on radio stations in Washington, D.C.

Gas prices are a function of supply and demand. If some of the "high school dropouts" who embrace the Democrats actually finished high school, they'd understand a little bit about the concept.
