I didn't really know to word the question, but anways, when people are being nice to you does it seem weird. I'm not used to people being nice to me. They usually were kidding around or wanted something when they were being nice. So when people are actually nice now, I don't know if it's true.

Lack of trust can be a strong contributor to this type of suspicion. At times, those who are nice, or wishy washy are as such to nourish motives beyond that pertaining to the best interests of the person they are nice to. Genuine, Good hearted nice people don't do this. Paranoia? Maybe. Insecurity? Just a womans word for describing a shy guys emotional state when they first met. I trust no one completely but God and myself. Nice people are alright, but I'd much prefer someone just flick me off and get it over with....That type of person deserves almost instant respect and trust...Why, You ask? Because they didn't hide their true feelings.

You are being paranoid. If you had a few bad experience, then thats what makes you think all people are like that, but actually, usually people are nice because they like or because they want to be nice.

Go with your instincts on this one. I don't think it's always paranoia. I wouldn't take it as a threat though. Just think it though before you let them get to close and see how it feels. It will probably be obvious that you are thinking them over but that's okay too.
