The Yankees will make an irresistible offer and he will be a Yankee.

The latest I heard was Buster Olney repeating the deal involving Santana for Coco Crisp, Jon Lester and a minor leaguer. I'd guess that the Twins are putting that out there so other teams have a chance to offer something better. I doubt they'll pull the trigger for a while, as they want to make sure that they get the best possible deal.

The four teams I've heard being involved in possible deals are the Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yankees. I highly doubt the Mets or Dodgers will get him, though. The latest rumor was that the Red Sox were the top suitor; they would give the Twins Coco Crisp, Jon Lester, and a few more promising prospects.

Boston, Mets and Yankees are looking. It just depends on what they are willing to give up to get him plus Santana wants a big contract extension to waive his no trade clause.

I want him to go to the Yankees...but we have to wait and see....He has the final say in the deal because he has a full no trade clause in his contract....He wants something like 150 million for 7 years!!!

PS I also read that the twins want to reach some type of deal before the start of the winter mtgs.....

whichever team signs him will be required to insert an addendum into his contract with a bonus based on him winning the cy young. It'll be called a santana clause. He should sign by christmas.

I know the Red Sox have been looking at him, but as a fan, I cannot see him in Boston, we already have great pitching. They were talking about trading Lester, Lowrie(the best SS in AAA), Crisp, and a few other prospects. I honestly don't think the Red Sox need him though, afterall, they have Josh Beckett, who is the best pitcher in the AL!

The Red sox have about a 30% chance while the yanks have a 50%.The mariners will have a 10% and the dogers, and angels 5% each(cant afford salary)

RED SOX are still the front runners for now but the Yankees and Angels are still both very much in discussions. I believe a deal will be done by this weekend, if one happens, because if the Orioles & A's both decide to trade their pitchers than the TWINS will lose ALOT of the leverage they have on these 3 teams. If The Yankees don't up their offer to include Chamberlain then the RED SOX will most likely get him because they are offering the better package of players out of the 3 teams.
