Is the joining of Big Government and Big Business a threat to your personal liberty? Could it be that global corporations don't need to control your religion or your speech or your guns? They don't need to send obvious signs like having thugs in big boots beat you down or having black helicopters kidnap your family members in the night. Maybe all they need to do is buy off our politicians, send our jobs overseas, force both parents to work (instead of one) at lower paying jobs, set up illegal trade policies, put only Chinese made trash in our stores, and convince us that at the end of a 10 hour work day it's whoever buys the most toys that wins?

No. Tyranny comes from total government control. Big government, big issues. Overall, communism is a force to be reckoned with.

Ya, they just want to keep their game going. They don't like middle classes and therefore are putting the American and the middle class might take to the streets, and that would end the criminal controllers way of life. You won't see jack-booted thugs like the brown shirts in 1938 Germany, except perhaps coming from the Nazis in the IRS.

They do kidnap children, but not as much in the US as overseas. The CIA are always at slave trade auctions in foreign countries, countries were children have lost their parents because of war and the children become refugees, or they are dislocated in some other way.

Yes, You see things clear. We are more and more evolving into a world where we aren't citizens but consumers first. The whole West is turning into a totalitarian state which ideology is buy, buy, buy. Try walking in any city on this whole planet in the developed world for ten minutes without being bombarded by advertising, you can't! The ideology of consumerism is everywhere

There is no reason to oppress the masses when all you have to do is let them throw money at you and in turn give the money to other rich people who will try and make sure that you don't have to pay for the poor to go to school.

Ted Turner and Rupert Murdoch were both born into aristocracy... Who needs telescreens?

Without a shadow of a doubt, I'm afraid! But, they will do all the things you listed, including the ones that you stated they did not have to do. The nightmare is coming, unless the people stand together to stop it in time. *sm*

Tyranny can rear it's ugly head through any institution, the Church, the Military, a Dynasty, Business, etc. It is definitely not limited to a king.

It's called either an oligarchy, or a hegemony, depending on who is actually in charge, be it families or companies.

It's been done before.

"Social democrats" is not actually the best term for who we are. We're more the pro-business party.
