I have this friend in my health class I just met him this year and we've become pretty close. He acts a bit girly and all his friends are girls, but hey I just thought he prefered haning with us more. He's a bit of an outcast to the boys but he is really nerdy looking and hates sports (which are a big deal in my skool). But lately he's been showing me pictures of yaoi (guy on guy sex) that he drew (he's really good) and asks me what I think of them. And he straightend his hair for skool yesterday (he has natural curls) is this normal behavior for guys or is my friend gay? Should I ask him and risk offending him??!

Normally I would say that "You shouldn't stereotype people."
Which is true. But seeing as he is into art involving guy on guy actions I think its safe to say he is at least entertaining the idea of homosexuality.
If you are really close, I think it would be safe to ask him.
Just be sure to use the right phrases and tones when you do it. It could be a sensitive subject for him and you want to come across as a person he can trust instead someone who is grilling him for answers. Try "Hey, I know you like Yaoi right? Have you ever thought about doing any of that yourself?" or something to that effect. If it doesn't bother you then be sure to add that. ("If you are then its OK with me") Like that.
I'm sure it will be OK.

I wouldnt reccomend asking him because he's most likely trying to figure it out himself. The porn thing is usual for guys, but if it's guy on guy.. then that is definitely a sign. Straightening youre hair when youre a guy is completely normal, I know tons of guys who are definitely not gay and do their hair. Dont confront him, just accept him for how he is.. and if it turns out hes gay, so what! and if it's not, he just likes expressing himself a lot. A lot of people don't realize they're gay, so hes just trying to figure it out.

Yeah he's gay and it seems to me like he's waiting for someone to ask him because he might think it would be dumb for him to just come out and say it. He was probaably hoping you would say something when he showed you that picture. Just causually point out a cute guy somewhere and ask him if he thinks he's good looking.

Don't classify him as gay. Everything you said is nothing unusual. He needs attention because he feels like an outsider. If you get close enough he might tell you without you asking.

I think he would be but I wouldn't ask him
it would really affend him, but if you really wanna ask him, ask him in a nice friendly way
like "Can I ask you a question it's nothing bad but im just curious, are you gay? If you don't wanna answer this it's alright, but if you are were still best friends"

He is definately gay if he spends enough time to do a good drawing of gay sex. Just jokingly ask him if hes gay next time he draws one.

Sounds like he is... As a heterosexual guy I can say that kind of behavior isnt typical.
But if your good friends, you can ask in a delicate way.. let him know that you dont care and it wont affect your friendship.
