Years ago while on a flight I met a man, who was very handsome, very personable & more than a little drunk. For the entire flight he tried to convince me to continue on with him rather than deplane at my destination & go sailing with him for the rest of our lives. I never quite forgot him, it was a memory that stuck with me. One of those "what if" things.

About twelve years later I was standing on a pier on Vancouver island looking at really nice sailing ship & a man got off & walked towards me. He stopped in front of me and said "now are you ready to go sailing with me?"

It was the same man ! I was with my friend and we both went sailing with him. My friend kept saying "that was weird do you know him?"

By this time he was married and I was involved with my friend so nothing came of the second meeting of course. Just one of those things life throws at you. I've had an interesting life.

Wow...can I have a reunion like that too? I wouldn't mind meeting up with "the one I let get away" because I was too scared to make that crazy decision!

At least you got closure. I still have that "what if" floating around down there in the dregs of my brain....

Once I have crossed paths with an ex. Yeah I admit that it had brought back some memories and feelings but I also remembered why we broke up so I simply just kept walking till he couldn't see me anymore. It's just too uncomfortable to go back with an ex. It's like not getting over the past.

All the time. Neighbors I don't know, people on the way to work or a big company, people working at stores I go to all the time, people on college campuses, people you see at bars all around town, etc. I'ts very common. They are familiar faces but the name is unknown.

You have had an interesting life! I have never had something like that happen to me though. Keep an eye out for him... maybe it is something that is meant to be, at some time in the future. You are a lucky lady!

Great story. Makes you wonder about this reincarnation thing, doesn't it. I've heard believers say that we often seem to instantly 'know' strangers in this life because we were close in a past life.

Perhaps he was unhappily married. I don't know the story of your history with your friend but this could have been an opportunity of a life time.

That's so lovely, it would make a great romance novel!
I don't think anything like that's happened to me.
From the upturn in events for you, he could be just around the corner again!

Good night that sounds like my ex, what was the name of the boat. He probably left Victoria for Vancouver looking for a good looking gullible(no offence ment) gal, that was his MO.
