Call the judge's assistant and tell them your situation. If you have an attorney, submit a Motion to Modify Child Support with your new income info. When you get a new job, go through the same procedure with your new income. The judge may suspend payments until you get another job, or pro-rate the money you owe until you can pay.

I know you care about your kids. You care where they lie their heads, if they have food, and if they are warm. Child support will not provide all of these needs for them. You want them in your life. Get a lawyer. Build yourself up as a strong father. Work at temporary services starting tomorrow. (There are some that pay daily.) Apply for jobs. Most are online applications now.

Write a check or get a money order and save the receipts. When you get a steady job, you may be able to get shared parenting. Make your child support payments, but make sure they are provided for.

1 look for work 2 it does not matter cause they have a minimum amount that you will pay even if unemployed. In washington state it is $25 a month. IF you have no income or job how are you able to afford a computer and internet connection??? You dont pay it will add up and be back child support then when you do get a job you will have to pay monthly PLUS what you owe in back child support.

That makes no sense really unless you were working at the tiem they did the papers cause in most cases both sides has to provide income information. In some states they will take and sieze your bank accounts and if you have an order to pay and don't you may end up in jail, i guess you could go in and talk to them i konw when we did our papers that the other party wasn't working but they figured that they she could possibly at minimum hold a pat time job so they made that her wages but we still had to pay 73% of the support how ever if they hadn't done that we would be paying more.

So i guess you nedd to make some calls or just go get a job you helped to make the kids now you have to help to raise them.

the court will you require you to pay what ever your stated support orders order you to pay each month whether you have a job or not. The missed payments will accumulate and will be charged interest. they WILL issue an arrest warrant for you and (at least in Texas) they will assign jail time as well as fines in addition to the past due amount and interest payments.
Go to the Attorney general and let them know what your problem is and they will help you file for a lowering of support but unless you are lucky it will not be retroactive to the point you lost your job. Don't hide from it as it will just get more expensive and will bite you in the *ss later, besides, you had a kid and you owe him/her the support.

The Courts don't care if you have a job, or not.

The Courts expect the child support to get paid .. no matter what .. or they can, and will, put you in jail.

Get a job. Your child needs your support.
