a hospital parking lot charges $3 for the firsr hour and 1.50 for each additional hour. a weekly pass costs $37 and allows unlimited parking for 7 days. if johnny vistis the hospital two and half hours each time, what in minimmum number of vists that would make it worthwhile for him to buy a pass.

Johnny visit the hospital 2 and 1/2 hours, but the parking lot charge by hours. So each visit for johnny would cost him $3 first hours + 1.5 (the second hours) + 1.5 (the 1/2 hours, and once again the parking lot charge full hour). So the totall would be $6 per each visit.

$37 weekly pass fee / $6 total cost per visit = 6.166
So the minimum number of visits per week should be 7, that would make it worth a while to purchase it.

$3 for first hour
$3 for the rest of his visit ( 1 1/2 hours but he'll pay for two)
