It signifies the helmets with the special radio receivers used by QBs. They use them to get the plays called into them. It is a way for the NFL and the team to better keep track of which helmets have this feature.

The green dot sticker on the back of helmets is used by the quarterback to show that he has open communications on the sideline. If you pay closer attention... often times the defense captain on the field(often the middle linebacker) also has a green dot, because he too has communication with the sidelines.

it means it has the radio in it to recive plays from the side line that is just the half of it when a team is kicking a field goal or punting that helment that has the green sticker on it can not be on the field do not ask me why it is just that

only one player can have the green dot and thats the QB who has open communications with the sideline through a headset.
