The car is in excelent condition. Never had any major problems with it. It's a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant LS that has been taken good care of. It just crossed over 100K miles. Should I expect any problems in the near future?

If all the normal maintenance items have been done you can check a few other normal trouble spots. The front and rear sway bar links wear out and knock when going over bumps. Grab the links and shake at both ends to check for play. I'd also check the connectors that plug into the headlight bulbs. They were a bad design and frequently melt from resistance between the wire and crimped wire terminal ends. Dim headlights are a sure sign of this problem. The auto transmissions are not a problem, just remember to change the fluid every 30,000 miles and only use Mitsubishi SP III. Change the external spin on filter on top of the trans if there is one. Drain and fill takes 4 quarts. Check the level after warmed up and having shift through all the gear ranges. Don't forget the distributer cap and rotor during a tune up, many places only do plugs and wires.

If the car is well maintained, you shouldn't be worry about any major problems. As the car gets older, you probably need to replace some minor parts due to wear and tear. Just keep on taking good care of it like regular scheduled maintenance and it should last you for a long time. At 100k miles, you are expected to replace timing belt and water pump soon. If it's a manual transmission, you will need to replace clutch at approximately 150k miles.

Timing belt , and possible water pump , due to the fact that at 60,000 miles these were due to be replaced , if this has been done it is due again at 120000 miles , possible Idle air control valve, this is prone to get gummed up and not operate properly in the idle mode, 4 cylinders and the V6 are notorious for this ,,
