I'm having such a hard time opening a child support case. I live in Fort Worth, TX. Since I had an origiana case (That I closed back in 2006) in Houston. They are giving me the round around. I try transferring it to Fort Worth only for them to send it back to Houston since they don't have juristiction. I need help. I'm a single mom of three kids.

good luck on this one. I live in OHio, but bio-dad lives in San Bernardino, CA. He's 2 1/2 years behind and it's the SanBerdo case (not originated from OH). It's been a long horrible fight. I've been living off my credit cards, paying interest while nothing is being done. He lives 'under the radar' (no job, lives off the relatives), but not going to jail. Good luck with your fight...

You need to hire your own attorney. The state doesn't have time to help you. YOU need to do all of the leg work, such as finding out where the father lives & works. YOU need to make the appointments with the attorney. YOU need to make certain that you comply with deadlines set by the court. Public attorneys have to prioritize, and quite frankly child support is not a priority.
