I'm from there and when i went america everyone thought i was from scotland because of my accent. This question is totally for the sake of it , so i dont want to hear any crap answers like "Whatever" or stuff like that coz i cant be arsed. :)

I don't actually have a problem with the scottish accent, just i'm not Scottish ... I'm geordie!!

It's up close to the Scottish border. I've been to Lincoln but not any further north.......and what is wrong with a Scottish accent? One of the best accents in the world.
