It comes off TEAM passing stats!
This is why you see some QBs throwing for more yardage than the team has in passing yards...
i.e. Tony Romo Passing Yards - 3352
Dallas Cowboys - 3234

The yards come off of the rushing yards. He is really the runner until he throws the ball.

It might effect his rushing yard if they sack him for yardage but there is no way it could ever affect his passing yards.

Passing Stats in Pros, Rushing in College. I don't know why they do it differently but they do. Just like they calculate QB rating differently.

it doesnt affect his stats at all
it only affects the teams passing stats.
say, if carson palmer got sacked, and lost 8 yards, and he had 290 passing yards, and 0 rushing yards.
it would remain the same.
he would still have 290 passing and 0 rushing, but the bengals passing yards would be 282 beecause of the 8 yards lost on the sack

It comes off his own personal rushing stats (- yardage). Doesn't affect his (or the team's) passing stats at all.

It depends on which league ur looking at.If its college football they take it off of the rushing yards while nfl takes off of passing yards.so it all depends on which one ur talking about.and in nfl it does affect ur rating but very little.cause u can be sacked 8 times a game yet as long as ur td/int per game is good and yardage 250 plus per game it wont affect it at all.

It comes off his running. If a ball is thrown and the WR is caught behind the line of scrimmage then it affects passing!

Passing, because they would have trouble telling whether it was a QB run or if he was just scrambling sometimes. And its the team passing stats, not the player himself.
