It really depends on what was in and what is on the box. Guinea pigs like all small pet types love to chew so that means anything that can be chewed will be chewed if placed in the cage. That's why you have to be careful about what was in the box. A normal kleenex box is fine, but one that had those moisturized tissue probably still have the moisturizer residue on the inside of the box and if your piggie chews the box they will be getting a does of that stuff going into their system Make sure the boxes you put in the cage are a) residue free b) soil free on the inside. The outside is another issue. Any box with permanent marker, plastic, tape or anything bad to digest should not be placed in the piggie cage. The best boxes are package type boxes minus tape and marker.You'dd be surprised how many supermarkets will give you some if you ask,especiallyy small ones that want to get rid of them anyway. Shoe boxes are also great although some have lots of plastic coating. Rocket Dog brand have very good boxes although i don't expect you to go out and buy a pair of shoes whenever your cavies need a new box. I personally hate plastic igloo type hide aways because piggies tend to chew on them and ingest the plastic. Paper and cardboard though less durable at least are better for the environment and their health. Imagine if you were his size and moved to somewhere new. Give your guinea pig time and make sure you are the only one that feeds him so he can get used to you. Ta;l/sing to him, I know it sounds weird, but once he gets to know your voice he'll squeak whenever he hears it ESPECIALLY if he's hungry lol, but be careful it can get annoying.

On the Kleenex Website, it doesn't seem very clear on how many in a box, but it seems to be saying, 80 in a normal box and 100 in a x-large box (it seems more than that)

My box of Puffs says 500. I do know when I need to blow boogers, I have to use three at a time so they don't end up on the mirror.
