I am religious about taking the pill (YAZMIN) every night at the same time for 4 months, but I accidentally missed one night so I ended up doubling up on pills the next night. That night I had unprotected sex --- is there a chance of pregnancy after missing one pill?

**for instance, I take my pill at 9pm . I forgot one night, so the next night, i took 2 pills at 9 pm. (the one i forgot and the one i was supposed to take for that day)

stop havig unprotected sex. that should help

Even if youre married stop having unprotected sex. Get an IUD. That's what we did. That way you don't have to worry about it for five years

Also, why do the only guys posting here have thumbs down, and no women do? Seems sexist to me.

Yes, if you miss a pill, there is a slight chance that you could get pregnant which is why they usually advise that you use alternative forms of birth control for the next 3-5 days. You did the right thing by doubling up the next day. Read the insert that comes with your pills for more info that is specifically related to Yazmin.

You did the right thing doubling up on pills to catch up on the one you forgot. That's what the instructions tell you to do.

Missing just one pill does not significantly increase your risk of pregnancy. Your instruction pamphlet will contain info about what to do if you miss a pill, and advise on how many you can mess up before you should use a backup birth control method.

BTW, don't freak out if you start to bleed. Breakthrough bleeding is common when you miss a pill. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just a side effect of the temporary drop in hormones. Continue on your pills as scheduled.

There is a chance of pregnancy even when taking it correctly, so yes there is a chance of getting pregnant when missing a pill and doubling up that night.

If your pamphlet said to use protection, then you should have had a condom on your man. If it said you are ok, then you are protected at the 99% effectiveness rate of the pill.

Dont worry about it your not gonna get pregnant. Especially if you have been taking the pill for 4 months faithfully. But you should not double up. Well just dont make a habit of it. AND NO UNPROTECTED SEX EVER even though you are on the pill there are still STD's (not saying that your partner has something).

Not good. You shouldn't double up on pills. And you should be more careful when you miss a pill your chances of getting pregnant do increase.
