I bought a truck 6 months ago and and sold it 2 months ago, it has changed hands 2 times since the owner now ran a car fax and it came up with odometer was tampered with They tell me I have to buy it back but i had no knowledge of the mileage being wrong any advice is appreciated

Tell them to prove it. Carfax doesn't have everything correct. It doesn't list every accident a car has, so why would you trust it?

I don't think it's called "odometer fraud", but if it was tampered, and they traced it back to you, you take the heat. Then it's up to YOU to go to the guy you got it from. This is why I never buy used vehicles from someone I don't know!

If you did not tamper with the odometer, refer the claimant to the person you bought the vehicle from.

Who told you that you had to buy it back? Because that makes all of the difference in the world as to what you should do.

Anyway, best thing to do is to get a local lawyer. My parents had a somewhat similar situation happen to them and they had to have someone else go to bat for them so that it didn't end up on their credit.
