I am in the process of converting my 1979 ElCamino to LPG. I would have gone to CNG as my first choice but the tanks are very expensive by comparison. Surprisingly, most other components are either the same, or similar. I got a 16 gallon tank for free with a little bartering, went to the local places that sold LPG for auto fuel and the guys there were very helpful. Many times digging up spare parts they had laying around and either giving them to me, or selling them at cheap prices. That's where I would start. There are plenty of companies around selling kits. All new stuff, you are looking around $2000. I'm in mine about $250.

I decided to go dual fuel so that I didn't have to worry about fuel when I travel. Just make sure there is a EPA certified kit so you don't have problems with smog. I'm winging it and can switch to strait gas if I have a problem. Good luck.
