Factor out a -8x^2 from each term.

Look at the factors of each term then take out any that are common

24 = 3*8 and 56 = 7*8 and x^3 = x* x^2
so Expression = -3*8*x*x^2 - 7*8*x^2 = -8x^2(3x+7)

Well, x is common to each term; and it is common twice (x^2 if you prefer)

(-24x -56)x^2

The minus sign is common
-(24x + 56)x^2

Both coefficients are even

-2(12x + 28)x^2

Both coefficients are even (again)

-4(6x + 14)x^2

Both coefficients are even (OK, last time)

-8(3x + 7)x^2

That's about it
