Neither one is true and suicide is too serious of a issue to try to turn into a gender debate.

I know of some people who had lots of drug and depression issues who have killed themselves (one was someone I grew up with). Suicide is so serious, I don't think someone can drive you to it. Others may contribute to your depression and pain, but ultimately, you make the choice whether you want to live or die.

Neither - a person prone to taking their own lives will do so when and if they feel the need to regardless of their sex - BUT, using someone of the opposite sex would make a great scapegoat to blame for anyone.

The current status quo suggests it's mutual... I'd agree. I can say that my wife, in conjunction with her malicious & evil so-called mother drove me towards that.
When I talked to my wife (I was cracking) she began screaming yet more... almost as if pushing to reinforce it. Instead of any help, I... urgh, not worth waffling on about.

suicide is a deliberate choice....no one can drive you there, but they can contribute to feelings that lead to suicide
