I love to sing and i practice all the time, i want to try out for american idol in a couple years. I told my dad(he's never actually heard me sing) but he said people have been practiceing alot more than me, and i don't have a chance. should i still do it?

Your dad is a loser. Some people go on American Idol totally unprepared. Keep practicing, and if in a few years you still want to do it, do it.

Some people get on American Idol simply because they have to choose the not-so-good and the hysterically untalented along with the talented. I feel sorry for those who fall in that last category, because I feel that someone lied to them and told them they were good enough! Sing for your Dad along with other people who will love you enough to be honest with you!

sing in public all the time like at the store. I don't plan on going on american idol but I still like doing it. If people look at you funny you sound bad...but who cares, they'll never see you agian.

if you feel like your voice is really good and u be able to do it ... so its better to go for it ... otherwise it will stay on you mind alll the time ...... some people practice alot but they might dont have a nice voice .. maybe you dont practice as much as they do but u have better voice than them ... go head and do it girl ...

talk to him and tell him how much it means to you. try singing infront of him and tell him to please beleive in you. then when the time comes, go for it, just dont give up on it
