I only tend to go out for a drink after work about once a week but whenever I have even a couple of drinks I find it really hard to make the 45 minute (sometimes more) journey on the central line without needing to pee. On a couple of occasions I've only just made it back home in time.

I don't have this problem if I don't drink but i'd like to find a solution that allows me to have a drink without the fear of being desperate on the tube.

It's good to void your bladder before you leave for home.
I would also practice holding your urine when your @ home or @ work, this will help train your bladder. Try some kegel exercise to build your pelvic muscle. Try stopping your urine-flow when you pee. These remedies should help some.

I have this problem all the time, but on the metropolitan line - funny how long 25 minutes can seem when you're bursting!

The only thing that works for me is to space out my toilet visits all evening - so I don't pee more than once an hour, even if I need to. That way if I go to the loo just before I leave, the hour's journey home is only what I've been doing all evening.

It doesn't always work, especially when the cold air hits me, but I think the theory makes sense!

We've got quite a few brits here today, don't we?

Is there any reason you can't go before you get on the subway, when you are still at the bar/wherever? Even if you don't really *have* to go at that point, it'll reduce your urge.
