I'm kinda amazed at the replies you've got so far, as almost all the names are either typical American names (Gretchen, Heidi) or a tad old-fashioned.
Exept for Ava, Lola, Laura, Emma, Lucas, Karl, Stefan or Mathias I wouldn't saddle my child with any of them. (Kaiser takes the crown - that's not even a first name.)
I agree with the poster who said that you need to pick names that sound (almost) the same pronounced the German and the American way.
A good pick would be IMHO "international" names, names that are derived from the Bible (New Testament) or have gone around the world for other reasons. Names that are "normal" in both the US and Germany.

A lot of them only sound pretty when properly pronounced in German. So whichever one you pick, make sure you can live with the pronounciation it will get from average, everyday English speaking people. For example, Uta sounds pretty in German, but an English pronounciation will be horrible.
