I agree, NASCAR is more popular...I guess my question was more in line will the driver's get on his case or be supportive (it is a cut throat industry)...

I'm sure he is going to catch some flack..but hey he got out that and did it, he is fit, has the talent for it..I also think alot of drivers will also look up to him for it...But then he is Brazilian, they always succeed. I don;t know what his 2 Indy 500 trophy's are going to feel about that DSW Ball that he won in between them....I personally feel the other drivers should be jealous...Hey Tony Kaanan you are Brazilian, mambo your way next yr on Dancing with the Stars...you can do it...

At the end of the last Indy Car season, a couple of drivers made some snide comments about Helio and his upcoming 'Dancing with the Stars' appearance. I believe Tomas Scheckter was one of these drivers and made a similar comment to those I was describing after a wreck with Helio Castroneves at the end of last season.

I think it hard that in a very masculine sport, with all due respect to Sarah Fisher and Danica Patrick, that Helio would escape a combination of good-hearted ribbing and malicious comments.

But, I agree with one the earlier answers, I think that a lot more people know who Helio is now, and this could bring some attention to the IRL as two of its biggest stars (Dario Franchitti and Sam Hornish) have bolted for NASCAR.

Nascar is not where the competition is, it is where the money is. I do not know why. I really hope more people will watch the Indy 500 this year. Helio was the first and only Spiderman (not Tony Stewart). Lets try nascar in open wheel modifieds in 2008, and see how many drivers still think they have fenders !! There would probably only be about 10 out of 43 who would finish !! Answer to question after nascar bashing on my part, Helio will get a lot of support from the drivers in the IRL. Everyone tries not to like him, but resistance is futile !!!!!!!!!!!!

Helio's win and popularity gives the IRL their best chance for success in years. Attendence and TV ratings will be up. The other drivers should thank him.

I am sure the jeck Scott Goodyear will make a comment the first chance he gets but I think the rest of the leage will stand behind him. This was a great bust for IRl and I think we may just see a few more people at races or watching the races.

Helio did wonders for INDY racing. I never saw the show and never will, but I hear people talking about him that never knew of him. That can only be good for INDY!!

IRL isnt popular enough in the U.S. for him to get noticed. NASCAR is where the real competition is
