i think it has for this reason, Tom Brady came from nowhere and became a star. And unlike previous examples, like Kurt Warner, or Terrell Davis, Tom Brady has stayed dominate for more than 1 or 2 years after his break out season. I think its to early to crown Aaron Rodgers the next Tom Brady for the simple fact that he's not going to get any playing time while Brett Farve is around, not to mention he was drafted in the 1st round which means he is expected to be good.

Unless you lived under a rock you probably should have known who Aaron Rodgers was prior to last night. He was a first round draft choice by the Packers (24th overall) in 2005 after an impressive career at Cal. Brady, on the other hand was a 6th round selection (199th overall) in 2005. Brady wasn't completely obscure prior to his entry in the NFL, he did start at Michigan for two years. Based on the 5 rounds and 175 picks separating Tom Brady's order of selection with that of Aaron Rodgers, its pretty much apples and oranges. Tom Brady's name has not become synonymous with "the kid that no one knew who came into the game to become a star" because that is way too long of a descriptive statement to be considered a synonym.

No. There were plenty of them before Tom Brady. Learn some history of the game. Also Aaron Rodgers is a first rounder, not exactly a nobody. Go find out what round Johnny Unitas and Bart Starr were drafted in.

Brady was drafted 199, and the Pats were set with Bledsoe, but Tom got a lucky break, and made the most of it. Brady is really a lot like Joe Montana.

Rodgers wont become a star like Brady, if he would be that good the packs already should seen that and already would sit favre the last year when he was playing really bad, i cant say that he played bad, he played very good and showed a lot of talent but that was one game.
he wont be a star like brady but maybe as most he could be a solid starter something like a Philip Rivers or a Matt Hasselbeck

I think Tom Brady is the standard for the QB no one ever heard of that was given a shot and kicked a*s...

And yes...I think Rodgers has some of that in him...and to think the Packers were ready to ship him out of town last year...I think the Packers know what they have now...The heir apparent...

That may be the way people look at it, but the truth is that University of Michigan quarterbacks get a lot of looking over, and UofM has placed more than the average number of QB's into the NFL. Brady was expected to do well, and he certainly has, but I don't see that it was that big of a surprise.

You know i was thinking the same thing... But then again I said that to a couple of another guys and they all became duds... haha

But Rodgers looks like he can prove himself in the NFL... Espically when Favre got hurt he kept the Packers in the Game... If Favre Retires next year... which i really hope he doesn't Rodgers will take that team to the playoffs.
