it is most likely hydrocell technology.
the same that GM is using to produce new hydrocell cars.
while the site doesnt give much info on the calculator, there is probably a de-ionizer of somesorts that most likely is able to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen in the water, creating an electrical charge that powers the calculator

well from what I read it work by filling it up with water and when it runs out you fill it up again
