I've been told that I can not have a vaginal childbirth after my previous cesarean. Does anyone know if that is true? If it is what are the reasons?

Visit http://www.ican-online.org for more info. ICAN is the International Cesarean Awareness Network and is absolutely PRO vbac (vaginal birth after c/s). My hubby and I are trying to conceive #3 and I'm aiming for a vbac after 2 c/s's. There is a place on the website where you can find a local support group. The website has access to all the current research on vbac's and the pro's and con's of them. There are very few reasons that someone can't have a vbac. It's usually the dr.'s lack of insurance, research, etc. (as in my case) that prevents vbacs. Just do all your research and be willing to stand your ground and change drs. if necessary.

There are some risks (the previous cut opening up) to having a Vaginal Birth After Cesarian section (VBAC).

It is physically possible, but not all doctors do it for various reasons. If this doctor won't let you, I'd get a second or third opinion before just dropping the idea.

good luck!

Depending on the type of cesarean you had. If they did a bikini cut then you can still deliver a baby vaginaly but if they cut you all the way open, this is usually only done in extreem emergencies, then no you cannot deliver vaginally

Some women have a vaginal delivery after a c-section.It depends why you had the first c-section and how long ago you had the c-section before getting pregnant again.

my cousin has had 3 babies. 1st one was c-section. the bikini one... and her doctor said she had to have the rest the same as you can risk the old c-section scar tearing while you are doing natural birth. good luck.
