My family fled the Czech republic in the 1800's due to political oppression. They took a long and dangerous voyage to the new land. They lost their fortune and ended up picking cotton on a plantation in the South. They and I are white. So, should I get reparations? No! No more so than descendants of black slaves should get reparations.

I wasn't a slaveowner. people descended from slaves weren't slaves themselves.
something that happened to your ancestors does NOT entitle you to anything.
The sins of the father do not get passed down to the son. So, too, the sins visited upon the father do not pass down to the son.

And I want reparations from the country of Iraq. I had to go over there for a year to oust a dictator that they could not overthrow and my marriage has suffered as a result. Can I get them to pay the alimony and child support?

You know what? My mom fled Germany to America after WWII because all her family's assets were destroyed by American bombing. I think I'm entitled to reparations too.

Capture and enslavement of an entire race. How do you think did the capturing and enslavement? Tribes captured and sold members of enemy tribes to the whites. No one is blameless here, but remember that the africians had a HUGE role in this....
