I know that Myspace has tons of ads, but I thought Facebook didn't.

Facebook gets its money from ads, but they are less obvious than myspace's. Facebook ads (also facebook fliers) are on the left side. They also have those facebook gifts that people pay $1 for, but those probably make a lot less than the ads.

Facebook is valued at 15 billion because of the POTENTIAL. Microsoft recently bought a stake in the company which will give it access to using the ads, and possibly keep other companies out. This gives them control over it, so even if people don't click on the ads it gets their name out to younger customers. So to them, they felt Facebook was worth 15 billion.

Facebook makes money mostly from advertising. It also makes some money from charging users for gifts.
